12 Days From Tanger To Chefchaouen And Fes
1st Day : Tanger
After we met you in the Port/Airport, we will transfer you to the hotel and you will have free program for the rest of the day.
2nd Day : Tanger – Chefchaouen
After breakfast we’ll drive to Tetouan. On our way, we will visit some traditional villages along the Jbala region.The region has a lot to offer like the aroma of breeze and the fresh air around the hills. We arrive to Chefchaouen and we will visit medina by walking through the town centre, known for its famous square and its markets. We spend a night in local hotel.
3rd Day : Chefchaouen – Volubilis -Meknes- Fes
Today we depart to Fes, we’ll visit Volubilis or “walili”, the berber Roman Ruins . Then we drive to Meknes, another imperial city with its historical sites . After visiting Meknes we pass through most attractive places towards Fes where we will stay overnight.
4th Day : full day in Fes
After breakfast we will explore medina ( old city ) with a local guide. Fes is one of the largest and oldest cities in the world. We will explore the narrow streets alongside with fresh aroma of spices and colourful carpets, in addition to many other art products of Morocco. We’ll visit Kings Palace, the tanneries, the potters and other handicraftsmen lining on the sides. Then we will have lunch in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the Medina and later we will finsh the tour and we return to our hotel.
5th Day: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga
In this day we will star our tour to southeast through the middle Atlas via Ifrane “the Moroccan Switzerland” then Azrou where we will have a stop at the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco to see and play with Barbary apes. From here we drive further south passing by several towns and you will get the opportunity to view nomads living in tents on the way. then we will stop in Midelt where you will enjoy your lunch. Later on, continuing our drive to Merzouga through the Tizi N’Talghomt Pass (1907m) while enjoying the panoramic views. Also you will have stop for a panoramic view of Aoufous palmeraie along Ziz River. At the end of the day we will continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi, (Merzouga ). Arrive to the hotel where you will spend the night.
6th Day: Merzouga – Erg chebbi – Merzouga
After breakfast in your riad, you can take a little exploration of the local area before the start of your camel ride ; You will visit the Gnawa people – originally from Mali, Senegal and Sudan- in their village Khamlia , where you will learn about their music and their lifestyle . later, we will drive in the desert area to meet nomad families to explore their way of life . Today our lunch will be a traditional berber meal (Berber pizza). you will have the option also to visit the old city of Rissani – the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty – the current ruling royal family in Morocco.
Rissani is surrounded by about 360 ksar (a fortified village with many towers) and has a big souk (an open market), held three times a week. Once called Sijilmassa, this was the meeting place for the salt caravans, coming from Tombouctou in Mali. Here you’ll walk through the souk, selling spices, vegetables and cloths. Drive back to the village of Merzouga. In the afternoon, you will ride your camel, guided by an experienced camel-man to explore what is hidden in the middle of the highest sand dunes in morocco. Dinner will be served in front of the tent where you will spend the night.
7th Day : Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Toudra Gorges – Dades valley
After seeing sunrise over the dunes of the Sahara and having breakfast we will go back by camels to our Hotel or Riad . we will continue our journey through Rissani, Alnif and turning towards Toudra Gorge. You’ll walk through alongside the running streams of the Canyons. We continue to the Dades valley where we stay overnight in local riad or hotel.
8th Day : Dades valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakesh
Today we will set off towards the High Atlas Mountains via Ouarzazate and we visit Kasbah Ait Benhaddou , one of the cinematic sites of Morocco. This site has attracted several film makers, and many awarded movies took place there including : Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, the Gladiator and many others. Our lunch will be served in the Kasbah and in the afternoon, we will head across the Tizi n Tishka pass in Atlas mountains to Marrakech where we stay overnight in a riad.
9th Day : Marrakesh – Essaouira – Marrakesh
Today after breakfast we drive to Essaouira, a coastal city and a historically prestigious point in Morocco. After arrival, you’ll discover the ancient streets, museums and castles and the bronze cannons. In the afternoon we get back to Marrakesh and we stay here overnight in a riad.
10th Day : Full day in Marrakech
Today we will spend all day sightseeing in Marrakech, the “magnet of travellers” exploring this beautiful city and tourist hub of Morocco. We will visit the Medina, its souks, the famous Jamaa el Fna square , Saadian Tombs, the Menara gardens and the palaces of El Bahia and Badia. We stay here in hotel in Marrakech this night..
11th Day : Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat – Asilah
Today we head to Rabat, and we’ll pass through important cities like Casablanca , Rabat (capital of Morocco) where we visit Hassan II Mosque. Then we drive north till we arrive to Assilah -a stylish town on the coast, gleaming with the blue colour. We stay here overnight in a hotel.
12th Day : Assilah – Tanger
After breakfast, we will drive to Tangier to finish our tour discovering some of the attractions and then we take you to the ferry port or airport before your scheduled departure.
